Durbanville Wine Hopper

Join us for a hop on hop off wine tour of the Durbanville wine route. Flexibility and freedom is the name of the game on this Durbanville wine route tour. Our vehicle spends all day following a set route, visiting six pre-selected wineries. You can decide which farms you want to visit and for how long, as our vehicle will be along in the next hour or so to take you to your next wine farm of choice. We start the day by picking up clients at  four pre-selected locations in Sunset Beach, Bloubergstrand and Big Bay ( Pickup Timetable ) surrounds and then continue on for a day of wine tasting. At the end of the day we drop clients off at the same locations where they started.

Bookings close at 12 noon for next day pickup

Cost for a 1 day Durbanville Wine Hopper ticket : R 350 pp
Included:
– 1 x  Wine tasting at Durbanville Hills ( 5 wines) ( Value = R90 )
– 1 x Bottled water
–  Transport and guide for the day to six wine farms:
 Durbanville Hills – Klein Roosboom – Hillcrest – Maastricht – Nitida – D’ Aria Wines

 

(Guideline:  Normal tastings range from R50- R90 per farm and generally include tasting of 5 wines per farm, some farms also offer wine pairings and lunch. Please have a read below of what each farm offers so you can plan your visits accordingly. The guide wil also give you more information during the tour)

D’Aria Vineyards comprises of two wine farms, Doordekraal and Springfield. The history of Springfield dates back to 1698 when the governor of the Cape first granted the farmland, then known as “Hooge Bergs Vallei” , making it one of the oldest and most significant farms on  the Durbanville wine route. D’Aria’s world class and contemporary winemaking excellence, under the guidance of master winemaker Rudi von Waltsleben, is rooted in years of experience . D’ Aria offers great wines and food at afforable prices in a relaxed atmosphere.

The farm is situated amongst the rolling hills of the Durbanville wine valley, within close proximity to the ocean.During the hot summer months, the cooling winds help to retain the natural acidity of the fruit, and in the cold and wet Cape Town winters, the clay rich soils around the Tygerberg work like a sponge and capture water. All vineyards are managed by the family and their long established team, only they decide what is best to make fruit driven white wines and well balanced red wines.
